Ball, Pineville, Alexandria to host National Day of Prayer events Thursday

National Day of Prayer will be observed in Ball, Pineville and Alexandria.

The Town of Ball will host a National Day of Prayer at the Community Center, 100 Municipal Lane, beginning at 11:30 a.m., according to a town flyer issued by the Town of Ball.

Lunch will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. followed by the National Athem and Pledge of Allegiance.

Afterwards the audience will be divided up into breakout groups around 12:10 p.m. to pray for business and community, government and media, military and churches and families.

Closing songs and devotion will be at 12:45 p.m.

The City of Pineville will host a gathering at noon on the steps of Pineville City Hall for an informal time of prayer for our nation, state and city.

There is no organized program and prayers are offered by anyone who desires to pray. The group prayer time concludes by inviting elected officials and public employees to the center to pray for them before singing a closing hymn together.

From 7 a.m.-7 p.m., people are invited to come and pray Thursday at the Student Auditorium at Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria. There will be a special group prayer time at noon for anyone who can attend.
