Baldwin EMC provides grant to support low-income families in the county

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Baldwin County Electric Membership Charitable Foundation presented a grant to a local charity.

According to a press release, the grant to Ecumenical Ministries of Baldwin County — a social services agency that provides aid to low-income families — was made possible through the Baldwin EMC’s Operation Round Up program.

Operation Round Up is made possible through money collected from rounding up participating members’ electric bills. The press release notes that the addition of this contribution means the program has contributed more than $6.5 million in grants to local agencies.
