Award-winning Oakland brewery to close permanently this weekend

(KRON) — An award-winning brewery and taproom near Oakland’s Jack London Square will be pouring its last pints this weekend. In a post on its Instagram page, Buck Wild Brewing announced that it was closing and its final day of service will be this Sunday.

“Friends, it is with a very heavy heart that we announce the closure of Buck Wild Brewing,” the post read. “The aspirational mission we laid out on Day 1 to produce award-winning ‘Craft Beer for All!’ was realized and we are humbled by the level of customer loyalty and industry recognition we achieved over the years.”

Specializing in gluten-free beers, Buck Wild Brewing has won several awards for its beers in the past, including Gold and Bronze honors at the U.S. Open Beer Championship in Ohio, Gold and Bronze honors at the Best of Craft Beer Awards in Oregon and Gold at the Great American Beer Festival. The brewery also swept the gluten-free category at the California Craft Brewer’s Cup.

The brewery’s taps will go dry following the close of service Sunday, according to its Instagram post.

“We hope you will find your way to the taproom in the next few weeks to raise a glass and help us toast the final day of this incredible journey,” the brewery said.
