Author Amanda Churchill to speak at Abilene’s South Branch Library

The community is invited to a free author talk featuring Amanda Churchill at your South Branch Library. Churchill will be on her national book tour and we are thrilled to be one of the stops while in Texas.

She’ll be on hand to discuss her debut novel titled “The Turtle House,” which is being released by Harper Collins. This book moves between late 1990s small-town Texas to pre-World War II Japan and occupied Tokyo. It’s an emotionally engaging novel about a grandmother and granddaughter who connect over a beloved lost place and the secrets they both carry. Set to be released February 20, this book was inspired by the author’s grandmother, who was a Japanese war bride.

Churchill is a Texas author and guests will certainly want to be a part of this literary event. Copies of her work will be available for purchase at the event, thanks to Texas Star Trading. Light refreshments will be served, and the library will have activities for children.
