Aumsville man arrested after home search finds 30+ guns, suspected fentanyl

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An Aumsville man was arrested after police searched his home and found more than 30 guns and what they believed to be fentanyl, officials announced Wednesday.

According to Salem police, a search warrant was executed at the home of Joseph Wallace Blades, 42, early Tuesday morning with the assistance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.

At the home, officials said they discovered 250 M30 pills, which they suspect to be fentanyl, as well as 36 guns of different types — including rifles, shotguns and handguns.

The house also had body armor, ammunition and a stolen vehicle, authorities said.

Blades was taken to jail and faces charges including felon in possession of a weapon, prohibited possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen vehicle and felon in possession of body armor.

The case is still under investigation.
