Fresh images of the 2018 Audi A8 test mule has surfaced on the internet. Expected for global debut in 2017, the refreshed luxury sedan will be introduced in India sometime by 2018. The currently sold third generation model received few upgrades way back in 2013.

The upcoming 2018 Audi A8 is expected to be powered by a 6.0-litre, W12 bi-turbo engine which puts out 600bhp of power and 900Nm of peak torque. As for the interiors, it will get premium upholstery, MMI infotainment system with gesture control and OLED screen. As for safety, the new model will get all modern safety features as a standard offering.

To make things interesting, the new Audi A8 is based on the MLB2 platform, with longer and fresh design upgrades. The test mule had been heavily camouflaged, yet gave some glimpse into the large single-frame grille that flows into the sharper headlamps. The sides sport sleeker ORVMs, while the roofline gets a lowered design to give the car a sleeker and sportier feel. As for the rear, the new Audi A8 facelift will get a restyled LED taillight assembly and minor cosmetic tweaks. The test mule featured standard alloy wheels for now, while the production ready model will get sportier alloy wheels.

More details on the 2018 A8 will be known in the coming days. It is anticipated to be priced higher than the current generation.
