Atmore man killed in car crash: ALEA

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A single-vehicle crash that occurred Friday morning killed an Atmore man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Derrel D. Williams, 34, was killed around 6:31 a.m. Friday, when the 2010 Mercury Milan he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree, according to an ALEA news release.

The crash occurred on U.S. 31 near the 34-mile marker, about 7 miles south of Atmore city limits in Baldwin County.

Williams was not wearing a seatbelt when he crashed and was ejected from the vehicle, the release said.

ALEA officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Troopers continue to investigate this crash.
