Arrests made: sex assault, abuse of child in Chaffee Co.

(CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo.) — Two people have been arrested in Chaffee County after an investigation into allegations of sexual assault and abuse of a child.

According to the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), its agency received information the first week of April concerning a possible sexual assault on a child.

CCSO said an investigation was immediately launched, and on April 5, two people were arrested and charged. 30-year-old David Lee Patton of Nathrop was charged with Felony Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust, Pattern of Sexual Abuse, and misdemeanor Child Abuse. He was booked into the Chaffee County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.

25-year-old Morgan Jean Ryen of Poncha Springs was also arrested for misdemeanor Child Abuse and Failure to Report Child Abuse or Neglect by a Person Required to Report. Ryen was also booked into the Chaffee County Detention Center.
