Arrest made in Boutte shooting

BOUTTE, La. (WGNO) — A suspect was arrested in connection to a shooting that left a teen wounded in Boutte.

According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office officials, 18-year-old Xavier Riley was arrested on Tuesday, April 9 for aggravated battery.

NOPD Superintendent addresses community policing concerns

SCPSO officials said Riley was allegedly involved in the shooting of a 17-year-old victim on April 3. The victim was wounded in the abdomen and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Officers said during the arrest, Riley allegedly confessed to the shooting.
