Armed man robs Independent Bank on Poplar, MPD searching for suspect
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department is searching for the suspect responsible for robbing an Independent Bank at gunpoint Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to the Independent Bank located at 3295 Poplar Avenue at around 1 p.m. Police say an armed man walked into the business, waved a firearm at the clerk, and demanded money from the register.

The suspect took an undetermined amount of money and fled the scene.
He is described as a 6-foot-tall man with a thin build, wearing all-black clothing, black and blue Jordan 12 shoes, and a lime green safety vest.
Pair accused of adding stolen Challenger, Charger parts to car
Police say no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
