Arlington elementary school employee showed pornography to children, police say

ARLINGTON COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Police said an extended day worker at an elementary school faces charges after he showed pornography to children.

The Arligton County Police Department (ACPD) said it arrested Matthew Pineda, 18, of Fairfax County who is charged with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography and Assault & Battery.

ACPD said it began its investigation into Pineda, who worked at Abingdon Elementary School in Fairlington, on April 19. The police department said it received information that Pineda showed pornography to three children.

As of Friday, April 26, Pineda was in the Arlington County Detention Facility with no bond set.

ACPD said it believed there could be other children who had similar encounters with Pineda. It asked that anyone with information that could help the investigation contact Det. R.
