Ariana Grande Took Down Piers Morgan for His Nudity-Shaming on Twitter

From ELLE

Ariana Grande fought the good fight today on Twitter, calling out Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan for shaming women-this time, Little Mix specifically-and their use of sexuality in art after her mother addressed him on social media.

Joan Grande initially tweeted at Piers after he took aim at Little Mix for appearing nude with words social media critics had written about them on their bodies in their new single art. He accused them of stealing the idea from Dixie Chicks and expressed his disgust at them using nudity to promote their art. Joan told him: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. That's when he came back at her, and brought Ariana into it.

"As for Little Mix, I'd just prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity. As your own daughter does...!" he wrote, after calling Ellen DeGeneres, another woman that Joan called him out for insulting, a "hypocrite."

Ariana herself responded to Morgan on Twitter. "Ellen is an incredible & kind human being," she began. "I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because I choose to. women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice. & we will keep fighting til people understand. I say this w all due respect but thank u, next." She then tweeted to Little Mix: "Keep fighting the fight divas @LittleMix your sisters have your back."

That wasn't all she had to say to Morgan. "Also @piersmorgan, I look forward to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do," she continued. "I think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it." She then called him out for appearing almost naked to promote himself in a third tweet.

Then she was done: "anyway. what else is new," she posted. Her final tweet was a blunt "thank u fuckin next."

Morgan, on his own end, basked in the attention, thanking Ariana for making him trend on Twitter. Anyway. What else is new?
