Argument leads to man's death in southwest Phoenix, police say

Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead after an argument Monday morning in southwest Phoenix.

Officers went to 83rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road for a shooting call around 9 a.m., and they found a man with at least one gunshot wound, according to Phoenix police officials.

Phoenix fire personnel tried to save the man's life, but he did not survive and was pronounced dead at the location.

A preliminary investigation revealed the man, identified as 38-year-old Daniel Kemp, was in an argument with another person "which resulted in Kemp being shot," according to a police news release.

Police did not release any additional details about the case.
