APD arrests drunk driver who injured aides

May 26—Nathaniel Lucero was arrested for drunk driving after he crashed into the police vehicle Saturday night, Albuquerque police said.

Two Police Service Aides, who were at the scene of another crash were injured, according to an email from police.

APD officers were responding to another wreck on I-25 north of the Lead and Coal exit at 9:30 p.m. when a Chevrolet Trailblazer crashed into a Public Service Aide vehicle, police say. One aide was injured inside the vehicle, another nearby.

The PSA vehicle launched forward and struck another police vehicle, police say.

The two PSA officers were treated for injuries at a hospital and released. Lucero also was transported to the hospital with injuries.
