Apartment fire displaces four in Grand Forks

May 23—GRAND FORKS — Four residents were displaced after a fire at 309 N. 5th St. in Grand Forks Thursday afternoon, May22. There were no injuries reported.

The Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched to the building at approximately 4:08 p.m. after a report of smoke, according to a release. The encountered heavy, black smoke coming from the second floor upon arrival, the release said. The fire was extinquished with siginifcant fire and smoke damage to one unit and smoke damage to the rest of the sceond floor.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Grand Forks Fire Department was assisted by the Grand Forks Police Department and Altru Ambulance.
