Anthony Weiner deletes Twitter account after new sexting report

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner apparently deleted his Twitter and Facebook accounts on Monday, in the aftermath of a new report him of sending more racy messages. Hours later, Weiner’s wife Human Abedin, announced she’d decided to separate from her husband.

The New York Post reported Sunday that Weiner and an anonymous “40-something divorcee” had been exchanging flirty texts and photos from January 2015 until just a few weeks ago.

One of the photos splashed across the Post’s front page Monday featured Weiner’s 5-year-old son in the background.

Weiner resigned from Congress in 2011 after his first sexting scandal, in which he inadvertently posted a racy photo on his Twitter page. A second sexting scandal torpedoed his 2013 campaign for New York City mayor.

The woman in the latest flap told the Post that despite receiving several invitations to visit Weiner in New York, the two had never met. Weiner is married to Huma Abedin, one of the top advisers to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

For his part, Weiner told the Post that he and the woman “have been friends for some time.

“She has asked me not to comment except to say that our conversations were private, often included pictures of her nieces and nephews and my son and were always appropriate,” he said.
