Anthony Scaramucci rips Steve Bannon on 'Late Show with Stephen Colbert': 'If it was up to me, he'd be gone'

"The Mooch" just fired a shot at Steve Bannon.

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night, Trump's very short-lived communications director Anthony Scaramucci accused chief strategist Steve Bannon of leaking and said he'd have him booted from the White House.

"Well if it was up to me, he would be gone," Scaramucci said. "But it's not up to me."

The revelation came following a discussion about Scaramucci's relationship with ex-White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, in which Colbert asked about a less-than-flattering photo of the pair.

"That's a rough photo," the former White House communications director said. Colbert then quizzed Scaramucci if his job was to "get to rid of [Priebus] and Sean Spicer."

"I don't want to say it that way," Scaramucci replied. But Colbert pressed, and asked him to "say it like the Mooch" and to "give me some Mooch," which is now your new way to demand gossip.

"So 'The Mooch' of Long Island would say there's no love lost there, I mean, look at the picture, right?" Scaramucci said.

"The weird thing about my relationship with Reince is that we were actually pretty good friends when I was a political donor writing checks to the RNC, but once I became part of the administration, or whatever reason, it was a little more adversarial."

Colbert also asked about Trump's reaction to the deadly events in Charlottesville, which has been criticized for not being damning enough against members of the alt-right, neo-Nazis, and other white supremacists.

"I know him as a compassionate person … it’s a super-tough job, he made a step to give up which was a luxurious lifestyle," Scaramucci said.

"Who cares? We're supposed to feel bad for a guy because he gave up his billion-dollar lifestyle to be the most powerful man in the world?" Colbert responded.

And somehow, we got to the topic of Colbert asking why "The Mooch" has never attempted to suck his own, well, you know what — in relation to that infamous quote relating to Bannon.

"Eddie Murphy said if he could do that, he would never leave the house," he said. "No, I'm not capable of doing it."
