Officials say donors of all blood types are needed, especially platelet donors and type O, and while making appointments is preferred, walk-ins are also welcome.

Keeping the shelves at local hospitals stocked with a sufficient blood supply is crucial to being able to provide timely care for all patients in need of lifesaving blood transfusions. It’s the blood on the shelves that helps in times of an emergency. We are grateful to the Green Bay Packers for making this drive possible and for helping us ensure that we collect the blood products needed to help save lives. I encourage anyone who is able to donate to take an hour out of their day and give back.

Officials also mentioned that all presenting donors at the event will receive a free giveaway item as well as a flower to celebrate Mother’s Day while supplies last. They will also have the opportunity to enter a raffle for the chance to win different Packers prizes.

Parking for the event will be free in lot 4 off of Lombardi Avenue and anyone interested in donating blood on May 6 can find more information or make an appointment by downloading the American Red Cross Blood Donor App., visiting the Red Cross website, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
