American Idol winner, Phillip Phillips, scheduled to perform free concert in Spartanburg

American Idol winner and singer-songwriter, Phillip Phillips, is coming to Spartanburg to perform a free concert at the BMW Charity Pro-Am on June 6.

Phillips is the winner of American Idol's eleventh season in 2012, and is known for top-chart hits including "Home," "Gone Gone Gone," and "Raging Fire." This is the third year of free, downtown concerts in Spartanburg, with performances from Diamond Rio and Marshal Tucker Band in the previous years.

The concert will be on Morgan Square in downtown at 5 p.m. Phillips' performance will feature Spartanburg bands, Back 9 Band, James Radford Band, and Gritty Flyright, as openers.

The BMW Charity Pro-Am is a non-profit, week-long event showcasing Upstate hospitality. It includes professional athletes and celebrities, raising money and awareness for South Carolina organizations.
