Child found safe after AMBER ALERT out of Perryville, MO

PERRYVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri State Highway Patrol has canceled an AMBER Alert for a child reported missing out of Perryville, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies were searching for three-year-old boy Aziah Hunt. MSHP reports as of 4:18 p.m. CT he was located and is safe.

One man was wanted in connection with the investigation. MSHP says it was searching for 33-year-old Donald T. Laurent.

MSHP did not disclose where or how Aziah was found, but says he is safe and “no suspects remain at large.”

According to the now-canceled MSHP AMBER Alert, an abduction of Aziah happened March 19 around noon in Perryville, Missouri.

The alerted stated that Donald contacted Aziah’s mother by phone and made credible threats within the last day. It was believed Donald and Aziah may be in or heading to Tennessee or Alabama, per the alert.

The initial alert came in around 1:30 p.m. MSHP searched for White 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis with Alabama license plate number 50A242P.

MSHP says an AMBER Alert is issued when law enforcement officials have a reasonable belief that an abduction has occurred and that there is a credible threat.

Additional details around this alert have not yet been disclosed. FOX 2 will update as more information becomes available.
