An Amazing New Website Creates The Best (and Worst) Food Mashups We've Ever Seen

From Delish

In an ideal world we could open the fridge to find a variety of ingredients that worked well together to make freaking fantastic dishes. But let's get real, the contents of our fridge are often haphazard and less than inspirational. However, we do have something IRL that might spark your creativity.

Food Plus Food is the place to go when you have absolutely no clue what to cook. We should warn you, the site doesn't actually offer explicit recipes or cooking advice. Instead, it pairs two different foods together every time you hit your space bar so you can just be awed by the beauty of food. That's it. It's so simple, it's kind of genius.

There's also a little "c" at the bottom corners of the food photos, which take you to the website where the images can be found. Sadly, you won't find recipes for the dishes there (caviar, for example, links back to a site for desktop wallpapers), but you could just try Googling the two terms to see what you come up with.

Some combos are innovative. Caviar and ramen noodles? That has some potential. Eggplant rolls with bacon? Probably the best thing that happened to eggplant since parmesan (sorry vegetarians).

Other combinations are a little more obvious, but sometimes we need to be reminded of them when our overwhelming hanger blinds us to what's right in our refrigerators, like fried eggs and sausage.

And of course, some combos are best to stay away from unless you still play truth or dare and you have a warped desire to see which of your friends will vom first after trying them.

Use the site for cooking inspiration or to stare at some unexpected food porn when you can't concentrate at work. It's all fair in love and food. And who knows, maybe you'll come up with the next big food mash up, à la the cronut.
