Alliance Schools' arts showcase returns
Alliance City Schools has announced its Fine Arts Showcase will return in 2024, with a nearly two-week series of displays and shows.
Nearly all grade levels will be featured during the events, from first-graders and elementary school students through the district’s competition choir, The Jetsetters.
First up will be a district-wide visual art show that will kick off with a reception at 6 p.m. April 29.
“Last year's inaugural Fine Arts Showcase was an amazing event, and I can't wait to see what this year brings,” said Shawn Jackson, director of secondary education. “We have so many talented students, both in the visual and performing arts, so it's great we set aside a week to show off their talents.”
The ten-day showcase offers families and community members the chance to see students’ artistic talent. Events are free and open to the public, unless noted.
“These young artists and musicians are excited to show off all their hard work from this school year,” said Bianca Burwell, head of the art department at ACS. “This showcase is the perfect opportunity for our families and community to see our students in action, shining in their artistic element.”
Check out the schedule of events during the showcase:
April 29 to May 3 – District-wide visual arts showcase with artwork from students in kindergarten through 12th grade, open from 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the main gym of Alliance High School.
April 29 – District Art Show Awards and reception at 6 p.m. in the main gym. Alliance Elementary School concert at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
April 30 – Alliance Intermediate School Choir concert, 6 p.m. in auditorium. Alliance Middle School Choir Night in the auditorium. Alliance Middle School at 7:30 p.m. Show choir at 8:30 p.m.
May 1 – Alliance Early Learning School first grade concert, 6 p.m. in the auditorium. Alliance High School and Alliance Middle School orchestra concert, 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
May 2 – Alliance Middle School band concert, 6 p.m. in the auditorium. Alliance High School band concert, 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
May 4 – Alliance High School Jetsetter Cabaret, 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets, $10 for adults, and $8 for students, can be purchased at the door or at the shortened link, shorturl.at/abjmJ.
May 7 – Alliance High School Choir Concert, 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
May 9 – Jazz Night, in the auditorium. Alliance Middle School Jazz Band, 6 p.m. Alliance High School, 7 p.m.
