Last week, Alison presented ITV's For the Love of Dogs for the first time, taking over from the late Paul O'Grady.

Despite the initial backlash from some against her casting, since she doesn't own a dog, many viewers who tuned in thought that Alison was a solid choice to host the series.

Speaking before her first episode of For the Love of Dogs aired, Alison said that she felt criticism of her not being a dog owner was a "flawed argument" and pledged to "do what I do best, which is TV presenting and you'll see for yourself, I think it's authentic and I loved doing [it]".

Earlier in the month, Alison was announced as the host of a brand-new BBC entertainment show set to air six episodes on BBC One next year.

Titled Alison Hammond's Big Weekend, the series will see Alison spend time with "some of the UK's biggest celebrities", often in their own homes, and interview them about their lives.
