Aiken man accused of starting fire in laundromat Tuesday
May 22—An Aiken man was arrested after allegedly lighting a business's garbage can on fire Tuesday.
Aiken Public Safety officers arrested Mark Bridges, 54, of Aiken, on a charge of second-degree arson.
Video evidence shows Bridges lighting a garbage can on fire in the Soap n Suds laundromat on Lee Lane, Officer J.K. Goodwin said in a report.
Goodwin said he and another officer confiscated two wand lighters from Bridges when he was arrested.
Second-degree arson is a felony punishable by between three and 25 years in prison.
Officers processed Bridges around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
An Aiken County magistrate set his bond at $10,000.
