Aiken Co. Coroner’s Office, SLED investigating death of Warrenville 3-year-old

WARRENVILLE, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a 3-year-old Warrenville girl.

According to investigators, Jasmine Mikell was pronounced dead on Sunday, May 12th at AU Children’s Hospital of Georgia following a reported accident of a birdbath falling on her at her home the previous day.

According to the incident report, the responding officer was advised that the 3-year-old was “crushed” by a bird bath, but responding deputies and EMS observed the family in the middle of the road with the child.

The incident report states that EMS immediately took the child and began compressions before the child was transported to the hospital where she later died.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and SLED are also investigating.

An autopsy has been scheduled in Newberry.
