"AHS" Season 6 Is About to Get a Lot Crazier

From Cosmopolitan

This season of American Horror Story has been confusing, to say the least - it’s sort of about the Roanoke colony, but also not; it’s supposedly being told via reenactment, but might not be, and so on. Apparently it’s only going to get more complicated, according to a new cover story on the show from Entertainment Weekly. “You’ll see starting in episode six, the show has a huge turn and the thing that you think you’re watching is not what you’re watching,” AHS cocreator Ryan Murphy told EW. “It’s a hat on a hat on a hat on a hat that we’ve had to protect.”

“Even though the subject matter has gotten out, it’s irrelevant because nobody gets what we’re doing,” continued Ryan’s fellow co-creator Brad Falchuk. “No matter what you think it is, it’s not that. Then, episode 6 comes and you’re like, ‘Wait! What happened?’” So basically, if you’re one of the people that believes Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr. are the real people and Lily Rabe and André Holland are the re-enactors, your theory might have just gotten more credible.

Denis O’Hare, who this season plays Dr. Elias Cunningham (the guy on the videos telling the Millers to get the hell out of that creepy house), says that not even the actors know what’s going on. “We actually don’t know anything,” he told EW. “We don’t get all the scripts. When you do get a script, you get it late - and even if you get the script, you don’t know what’s happening, so you’re like, ‘Uh.’” Cuba Gooding Jr. reiterated this sense of confusion in an interview with Vanity Fair, saying, “They never give you information.” He also hinted that he and his “real” counterpart André Holland might meet on screen, which makes no sense at all. Episode six airs Oct. 19, so place your bets on the big twist now.
