Afternoon fire in Menasha causes $50K in damages, residents without a home

MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – Several residents are without a home after an accidental structure fire at a home in Menasha on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue, crews were sent to the 1500 block of Greendale Street shortly after 1:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters found flames in the basement of the residence and confirmed that everyone had evacuated. The fire was quickly contained with a single hose line.

Firefighters say the fire was accidental and not intentional. Regardless, the damage caused by the fire is estimated to be $50,000.

There were no injuries from civilians or firefighters and the residents affected are being helped by the Red Cross.
