Adult Center announces April events

Apr. 1—GREENSBURG — The Greensburg Adult Center recently published their calendar of special events for April.

If euchre is your game of choice, the euchre tables in the card room are available to the public. Registration for the monthly euchre tournament begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, with play beginning at 12:30 p.m.

If bingo is your game, Hickory Creek residents will visit for a game at noon on Wednesday, April 3. Bingo with Waldron Healthcare will be played at noon on April 17 and with Crown Pointe at noon on April 24.

If you enjoy movies, you might be interested in the 1995 remake of "Sabrina" with popcorn at 1 p.m. on April 24.

For those who enjoy live music, at 2 p.m. every first Wednesday of the month is the Acoustic Jam. Local "pickers" from near and far gather at the Adult Center to pick a little and share their love of folk and gospel music.

If flute music is your jam, a flute circle meets at 1 p.m. on the third Saturday of every month. The Adult Center Flute circle was started by local luthier and recording artist Douglas Goldsmith. On April 20, the flute circle will be celebrating its second anniversary.

At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, the Adult Center will host a free "No pitch-in" Pizza King pitch-in lunch sponsored by Voelz, Reed & Mount LLC from Columbus.

Community Health Care will be on hand at the Center to give free blood pressure screenings at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15.

The Tree City Stitches Club meets at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, at the Center.

Finally, the Adult Center will say goodbye to Director Monty Shields with a Farewell Open House from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. Shields has decided to retire (again) to travel and spend time with his wife and granddaughters.
