Accused park stabber sought by Metro police

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Have you seen Jerald Sanford? If so, you are asked to let authorities know.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Sanford, 33, is accused of stabbing another man on March 31 in Walk of Fame Park in downtown Nashville. The victim told police Sanford approached him and aggressively asked him for money before walking away.

He then reportedly returned with a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck before fleeing on foot, according to police.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and treated for a severe laceration.

Sanford is wanted for attempted criminal homicide, police said. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
