Access to Mill Mountain Star restricted as crews install new bulbs

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The City of Roanoke announced access to the Mill Mountain Star will be restricted on May 24, as crews replace light bulbs.

From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, all access to the observation deck in front of the star will be blocked off. The city says crews are replacing neon light bulbs that will require a large, boom-style lift.

Once the maintenance is complete, the observation deck will reopen.
