UPDATE: Abilene police searching for suspect behind two early morning armed robberies

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Abilene police are now searching for a suspect behind two early morning convenience store robberies.

Both incidents happened at stores along S Clack Street between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The first incident occurred at a DK at the corner of S Clack Street and S 7th Street just after 2:30 a.m. Police say an armed suspect wearing a mask and dark clothing brandished his weapon at a clerk then stole and undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

Around an hour later, at just after 3:30 a.m., a second aggravated robbery was reported at an Allsup’s just down the road on the 5100 block of S Clack Street.

A report from that incident claims an employee at a south Abilene convenience store reported a suspect, who matched the same description as the suspect in the first robbery, came inside and threatened them with a firearm while demanding money. The report also states the suspect became frustrated when the employee refused to open the register and told them “no”, prompting the suspect to flee.

Police are asking anyone who may have information on this suspect’s possible whereabouts or identity to call Abilene Crime Stoppers at (325)676-8477. All tips are guaranteed anonymous.
