Abilene ISD says ‘vague pre-recorded phone message’ was not a threat

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Abilene ISD says that a “vague pre-recorded phone message” received by several campuses Wednesday morning is not being considered a threat.

School officials sent a message to parents following the phone message, saying “the recording does not mention the City of Abilene or any of our schools and does not represent a threat to any of our students and staff.”

Police are helping staff investigate this as a safety precaution, but as of right now, school is proceeding as normal.

No further information is available at this time.
