8 to 10 cats found dead after mobile home fire in east Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Eight to 10 cats were found dead inside a mobile home after a fire in the east Las Vegas valley, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

On Tuesday around 5:40 p.m., CCFD received a report of a mobile home fire in the 3400 block of Allegheny Drive near Nellis Boulevard and Desert Inn Road.

When fire crews arrived, they reported “heavy fire” coming from the front side of the trailer. When a search group entered the home, they found eight to 10 cats dead inside, CCFD said.

Crews extinguished the fire around 6:10 p.m. Crews then began overhaul for hotspots.

One person was evaluated by medical personnel but declined to be taken to the hospital. No other injuries have been reported at this time.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, CCFD said.
