I-70 eastbound closed due to hazmat spill

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The eastbound lanes on Interstate 70 are closed due to a two-vehicle crash that happened Friday morning.

Colorado State Patrol (CSP) officials got a call about the crash at approximately 9:49 a.m. Friday and arrived on scene near I-70 milepost 65. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and one spilled a flammable liquid following the crash. No one was injured in the accident.

I-70 eastbound remains closed until further notice; CSP says they don’t have an estimated time for reopening, and the closure is expected to be in place for an extended period.
