7 big flower trends to try in 2019

A beautiful bunch of flowers can brighten up even the greyest of winter days, filling your space with some much needed early spring sunshine.

The experts at online florists Bloom & Wild have made their predictions on what flower trends will be big in 2019.

Here, lead florist Caroline Grimble, and floral stylists Amelia Christ and Rowan Lewis, share their thoughts...

1. Coral

"Coral will stay big in the floral world with Pantone choosing it as 2019's Colour of the Year," Bloom & Wild say.

2. Foliage and grasses

"And lots of them! They add beautiful texture and movement to an arrangement, and are set to be big for 2019 displays," say Bloom & Wild.

3. Dried flowers

"Whether it’s a whole bouquet or just the odd dried flower added into an arrangement, this trend is only getting bigger. So expect to see lots of seed heads and dried lavender, which make arrangements last such a long time," Bloom & Wild say.

4. Block-colour bouquets

"Block-colour bouquets, made with one colour in a mix of flowers, is a big trend for 2019," say Bloom & Wild. "It’s very striking."

5. Minimalism and Ikebana

"Minimalism and Ikebana (the Japanese art of flower arrangement) are both big trends for the more experimental and advanced florists amongst you. It’s stunning at weddings and other events," Bloom & Wild say.

6. Dyed flowers

"A trend that continues to endure is that of seasonality, loving and embracing the best of what you have throughout the year, and wherever possible using beautiful British-grown flowers," Bloom & Wild say.
