6 things to do in San Diego this weekend

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — With a dry and warmer weekend ahead, San Diegans looking to enjoy their Saturday and Sunday have many options when it comes to making plans.

From unlimited tacos tastings to immersive art experiences and family-fun, here are six things to do this weekend across the county:

Attention San Diego foodies: this weekend marks your last chance to indulge and enjoy multi-course menus throughout the county as part of the popular San Diego Restaurant Week. Enjoy a new tasting experience at one of many participating locations. From North County to South Bay, two-course lunches and three-course dinners will start at just $20 for the last leg of the event.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

Grab the family and head to the flower fields in Carlsbad to celebrate the upcoming arrival of spring. Guests can take a tractor ride around the grounds, and walk through the fields to take advantage of photo opportunities. There will be be food vendors serving up lemonade and ice-cream dipped in sprinkles, among other dishes.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Stroll through a beautiful landscape at Balboa Park’s Japanese Friendship Garden and Museum this weekend to enjoy the blossoming cherry blossom trees. There will be a beer and sake area for guests of drinking age to enjoy, plus 30 different food and merchant vendors. Children can enjoy a play area with games, and there will be live performances all weekend.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience

This popular immersive art experiences is back at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Guests can walk around a stunning exhibit featuring over 300 pieces of Vincent van Gogh’s more celebrated works. From art pieces like “The Starry Night,” “Sunflowers” and “The Potato Eaters,” this event showcases his works in a bold and bright way.

West Coast Taco & Beer Festival

Held at the Broadway Pier, tickets to this event includes unlimited taco tastings and unlimited beer/beverage tastings from dozens of restaurants, taquerias, breweries, and other beverage makers. For activities, there will be free mini golf and live entertainment from an array of local DJs. This festival is 21+, so grab your friends and enjoy some San Diego tacos and beer!

MJ the Musical

The artistry of world-renowned performer and musician Michael Jackson will be brought to life on stage at the San Diego Civic Theatre. the multi-Tony Award-winning new musical is centered around the making of the 1992 Dangerous World Tour. There shows scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday while tickets last.
