6-year-old girl injured in Cumberland County drive-by shooting

A 6-year-old girl was injured late Wednesday in a drive-by shooting at a house in Cumberland County, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Thursday afternoon.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the shooting was reported at 11:40 p.m. in the 4300 block of Pleasant View Drive off Baywood Road. Deputies located multiple bullet holes and an empty residence upon arriving at the scene, the release said.

The injured juvenile was taken to the Fayetteville Police Department and then transported to the hospital, a news release said. She is expected to make a full recovery.

The Sheriff's Office said they learned Thursday afternoon that a house in the 4200 block of Pleasant View Drive was also hit by gunfire in the drive-by. The three people inside were uninjured.
