6 injured in multi-vehicle crash involving school bus in Mint Hill: Medic

MINT HILL, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Six people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Mint Hill Friday afternoon, according to Medic.

Authorities said the school bus was leaving Rocky River High School when it was involved in a crash with another vehicle at 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Blair Road and Allen Station Drive in Mint Hill.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials said there were 20 students on the bus. Six people were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, according to the Mint Hill Fire Department. Medic reported three have serious injuries and three have minor injuries.

Firefighters remained at the scene Friday afternoon until parents picked up all students.

Mint Hill Police and Robinson Fire & Rescue also assisted at the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time.
