$55,000 worth of items stolen from Springfield pawn shop

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Springfield Police Department and Sangamon/Menard County Crime Stoppers are asking for help in solving a burglary that resulted in $55,000 worth of items being stolen from a pawn shop.

The burglary happened around 5:30 a.m. on April 17 at Anything Sales. Officials said police officers responded to a burglary alarm at the business and found it ransacked, with jewelry, watches and coins missing. In addition, over $20,000 worth of damage was done to the building.

Anyone who has information regarding the burglary, or who can identify the suspect, is asked to submit their knowledge to Sangamon/Menard County Crime Stoppers. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 217-788-8427, on Crime Stoppers’ website or through the “P3 Tips” app. Any tips that result in an arrest can be rewarded with up to $2,500 in cash.
