SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — For those looking to celebrate International Whiskey Day, there are several bars and lounges in San Diego serving up drams of quality spirits.

Celebrated annual on March 27, whiskey lovers across the globe cheers to honor their favorite distilled alcoholic beverage, which is made from fermented grain mash. Corn, wheat, rye, and barley are the most common grains used to make whiskey.

The Whiskey House

Located in the Gaslamp Quarter, this bar has an impressive collection with over 4,000 different whiskeys sourced from all over the world. “Whether you’re a seasoned aficionado or just beginning your whiskey journey, our diverse selection offers something for everyone’s palate,” the bar noted online. This establishment even has a “Whiskey Club” with monthly events.

Seven Grand

Head on over to North Park for this go-to spot for whiskey enthusiasts. “Our pride is in our whiskey selection, offering everything from exclusive rarities to classic favorites,” the bar noted online. The Seven Grand’s “Whiskey Society” also holds gatherings every Wednesday and Friday. Those meetings have been described as “a celebration of whiskey in all its global glory.”

Salt & Whiskey

This bar can be found at San Diego’s Horton Grand Hotel. “We pride ourselves on serving flavorful bites and maintaining an inventory of rare, hard-to-find scotch and whiskey,” the establishment noted online. As far as the atmosphere, think “modern day, Victorian era.” The bar is open to all, even those not staying at the hotel.

Aero Club Bar

This bar is located in the Middletown neighborhood. It’s second owner, Bill Lutzius, began what the establishment described as “an unrivaled whiskey program.” There are over 1,000 whiskeys available from all sorts of places. “Aero is now owned by a group of friends who understand the importance of a drink with good company,” the bar explained.

Whiskey Girl

This bar, which is also an entertainment venue, can be found in the Gaslamp Quarter. There are over 70 whiskeys to choose from, whether you prefer it straight up or mixed as a traditional cocktail. From single malts, Canadian, Irish and bourbons, this spot has it all when it comes to whiskey. Happy hour is from 3-7 p.m. on weekdays.
