It's set for 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, at the Masonic Scottish Rite Center, 302 N. Second St. in McAlester. This will mark the 52nd year the event has been held, following its cancelation the past four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2 What is the purpose of the Women's Holy Week Salad Luncheon?

The Holy Week Salad Luncheon is designed to bring women in the McAlester area together. It is free and is open to women in the McAlester area who want to gather for an hour of prayer, music and a motivational speaker, and offers a large variety of salads for lunch.

3 Who is the motivational speaker and who is providing music for this year's event?

Laura Stockbridge is the motivational speaker with music provided by the Puterbaugh Upper Elementary Choir.

4 Are any special instructions are in place for this year's luncheon?

Serving starts at 11:30 a.m. Ladies attending who don't work outside the home are asked to bring a large salad and arrive 15 minutes early at 11:15 a.m. They're asked to label their salads with their first and last names. Serving utensils will be provided. Women working outside the home don't need to bring a dish.

Women who don't work outside the home are asked to let the women who do go first in line, because many of them will be on a lunch break and will have to return to work.

5 Who is holding the Maundy Thursday Holy Week Salad Luncheon?

First Presbyterian Church is hostess and providing the speaker; All Saints Episcopal Church is providing decorations; First United Methodist Church is providing prayers and publicity; Lakewood Christian Church is providing music.
