5-year-old child hit by train in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Springfield Police Department has confirmed that a 5-year-old was hit by a train on Thursday afternoon.

It happened near South Grand Avenue East and South 3rd Street. The child was severely hurt and is now being treated at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, authorities said.
