4th of July Parade committee seeking veterans and community groups

May 14—LEWISBURG — Organizers of the 2024 Union County Veterans' 4th of July Celebration seek veterans and community groups to register for the parade on June 29.

The celebration starts at 7 p.m. June 28 with a concert featuring the Becky Blue Band sponsored by a locally owned and operated McDonald's. That is followed by a fireworks show sponsored by Weis Markets and USA Life.

The parade is held at 10 a.m. June 29.

Rain dates for these events are June 29 and June 30.

The committee is also conducting a couple of fundraising raffles. They are raffling off six pairs of rides on the plane that does a flyover to start the parade. The plane flew on D-Day in 1944. They are also raffling off a VIP Pro Wrestling Experience for Slamfest Live Professional Wrestling at the Rusty Rail in Mifflinburg.

The parade committee is seeking veterans from around the region for the parade. Veterans or other parties interested in registering for the parade should contact committee President Terry Burke at 267-760-3332 or email ucveterans4thofjuly@gmail.com.
