48-year-old case closed after GBI lists Kyle Clinkscales’ manner of death as ‘undetermined’

 TROUP COUNTY, Ga. (WRBL) – The Troup County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) shared another update regarding the death of Kyle Clinkscales.

Clinkscale went missing 48 years ago back in January of 1976. Authorities found his vehicle, a 1974 Pinto Runabout, and his human remains in Chambers County Creek in 2021.

TCSO said on Tuesday that Sheriff James Woodruff received information from the GBI’s Crime Lab listing Clinkscales’ manner of death as “undetermined.”

As of now, the sheriff’s office says Clinkscales’ case is closed “unless further information is discovered.”
