46th Annual Edmond Arts Festival set for May

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) — The Edmond Arts Festival is returning for its 46th year and will be held from May 3 to May 5.

The yearly extravaganza will be surrounded with an array of art, entertainment, and delicious tasting treats for those who join in on the fun filled weekend festival.

Downtown Edmond streets will be packed with 157 artists ranging from 14 different states, including 30 artists that will be new to this years event. Many different forms of art will be on display including oil, acrylic, pottery, watercolor, jewelry and photography.

A devoted area of First Street will showcase artists that display their skills in leather, wood, glass, fabric, metal and resin.

The festival marketplace will be filled with many engaging activities that are friendly for all ages. The activities will vary from balloon animals, art projects and face painting to gigantic pieces of chess, checkers and Legos. Other events will happen underneath the pavilion where you will be able to listen to local choir performers, singers and dance groups.

Lucas Ross will also be performing with the Oklahoma Opry Band on Friday, May 3, at 7 p.m. and Saturday night will host a concert by The Wise Guys, a local fan favorite.

Food trucks, local restaurants, breweries and coffee shops will be in attendance to bring those classic fair food cravings amongst other treats that will satisfy your tastebuds.

If you are worried about parking spots filling up, fear no more. A free shuttle bus will be running from the UCO to the venue throughout the entirety of the festival. There will be parking in lots located on the west side of 1st and University, including a short bus ride that will take you to Hurd and Littler and just a small walk from there to the festival.

Hours of the Edmond Arts festival are 10 a.m to 8 p.m. on May 3 and 4 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m on May 5.
