4 residents displaced in Zumbrota fire Monday night

May 14—ZUMBROTA, Minn. — Four residents are displaced following a laundromat fire in Zumbrota on Monday night, May 13, 2024.

While responding to a 911 call around 8 p.m. Monday, the Zumbrota Police Department and Zumbrota Fire Department found a fire in one of the dryers at Main Street Laundry on East Third Street. The caller reported they were evacuating the occupants of the building, according to a statement from the Zumbrota Police Department.

"The Officers deployed their department issued fire extinguisher to contain the fire until Zumbrota Fire Department arrived shortly after. Zumbrota Fire Department was able to extinguish the rest of the fire and ventilate the building," Zumbrota Police Department Sgt. Tony Pasquale said in the statement.

No injuries were reported.

The four residents above the laundromat are temporarily displaced due to smoke damage.
