4 people and dog displaced, 2 cats dead after VB house fire

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Four people and a dog are without a home, and two cats are dead after a Virginia Beach house fire.

Friday around 11:30 p.m. firefighters responded to a house fire on the 2600 block of Eagles Lake Road.

When crews arrived on the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames showing through the roof as well as the first and second floor.

Crews attacked the fire with water and marked the fire out around 12:24 a.m. No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
