4.3 quake strikes near Bodfish, east of Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 4.3 magnitude quake struck near Bodfish on Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck at around 12:19 p.m. Its epicenter was in an area south of Bodfish — about 7 miles — and Lake Isabella, according to the USGS.

Residents reported to 17 News, they felt shaking in Bakersfield, Bodfish, Buena Vista Lake, Oildale and other surrounding areas. The USGS received reports of light shaking or very light shaking near the epicenter and the Kern River Valley.

Data from the USGS showed the quake struck at a depth of 0.1 kilometers.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
