$25,000 for Modesto Children’s Museum could double. How you can help make that happen

A matching grant of $25,000 will help the Modesto Children’s Museum continue its programs.

The Costa Family Foundation has provided the grant, according to a press release from the nonprofit museum.

Every dollar donated by the public from now until April 30 will be doubled by the grant.

“This matching gift from the Costa Family Foundation boosts our mission to make learning accessible to all children, regardless of their background or circumstances,” Christina Mize, director of advancement at the museum, said in the release. “With the support of our community, we have been able to reach significant milestones in a short span of time, but there is still much work to be done.”

Since opening in September, the museum in downtown Modesto has had more than 50,000 visitors through admissions, field trips, birthday parties, camps and more, according to the release.

“Notably, approximately 30% of admissions have been through the Museums for All Program, ensuring accessibility for families receiving SNAP/EBT benefits,” the release said.
