21-year-old arrested 2 years after deadly Salisbury shooting: Police

SALISBURY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — More than two years following a deadly Salisbury shooting, authorities have made an arrest in the case.

Dequan Quinshaun Hairston, 21, has been arrested and charged with murder, police said.

The homicide occurred on March 3, 2022, along Freeland Drive in Salisbury. Authorities said Michael Dwayne Connor Jr. passed away from a gunshot wound.

21-year-old arrested 2 years after deadly Salisbury shooting: Police

Salisbury Police, the North Carolina Bureau of Investigation, the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kannapolis Police Department all worked together on this case.

Hairston is being held in the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center without bond.
